Artist lab residency program accepting applications

DeSoto—The DeSoto Artists Lab (DAL) is on the hunt for innovative, boundary-pushing artists who are reshaping the future of art by blending mediums and breaking new ground. If you’re passionate about creativity, community engagement, and collaboration, join us in DeSoto, where diverse artistic visions converge to inspire, elevate, and transform. 

Managed by the city of DeSoto’s Cultural Arts Foundation, the DAL is dedicated to enriching lives, sparking creativity, and uniting the community. This program celebrates the power of artistic expression and supports artists from diverse cultural backgrounds who live and work in and around DeSoto, fostering an inclusive and dynamic creative environment for all. 

Up to ten exceptional artists will be selected for the residency, where they’ll work in various community spaces alongside organizations, city agencies, or commercial venues—creating open, public-access opportunities for artistic engagement. These stipend-based residencies offer artists time and space to create while also offering the community a chance to experience a wide range of visual and performing arts. 

Residencies vary from four weeks to six months and can be tailored to a single discipline or foster exciting interdisciplinary collaboration. 

Awards range from $1,500 for short-term residencies to $10,000 for longer, impactful projects.
