DeSoto Mayor honored by Patieaux Chick

DeSoto Mayor Rachel Proctor and six other ladies were hand selected by Tara Paige, AKA, the Patieaux Chick, over the summer.

Proctor was selected for her service and leadership as the mayor of DeSoto. She said she felt honored for the recognition.

This year’s event brought women together from across the country for a one-of-a-kind weekend focused on wellness, entrepreneurship and cultural celebration—centered on joy, rest, and intentional living. There was a black-tie gala honoring changemakers including Dr. Opal Lee and Mayor Rachel L. Proctor, with dinner, entertainment and a pink carpet arrival. Unfortunately, Dr. Lee did not attend, but her granddaughter took her place and accepted her award.

The Patieaux Chic Foundation is 501C3 organization. All proceeds will be used to help the foundation go into the community and continue its mission of promoting joy in outside spaces.
