Police investigate traffic fatality

Grand Prairie—The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal accident that occurred on Oct. 21 at approximately 1:40 a.m.
A Toyota passenger car was traveling north in the 4500 block of S. Highway 360 at Green Oaks Blvd with hazard lights on and at a slower speed when a GMC SUV struck the Toyota from behind.
The driver of the Toyota passenger car was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the GMC SUV, identified as Hector Garcia, 20 years of age, was believed to be intoxicated and subsequently arrested for intoxication manslaughter. Garcia is currently being held at the Grand Prairie Detention Center with a bond set at $200,000.
The identity of the deceased will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office once the next of kin have been notified.
The collision remains under investigation.
