James Newton Pritchett
James Newton Pritchett, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went to be with Jesus on April 8, 2024, after bravely battling Alzheimer’s. He was born in Dallas, Texas to parents J. C. and Hazel Irene Pritchett on February 11, 1937. After high school, he proudly served in the Unit-ed States Air Force. He later joined the Irving fire department and was a Battalion Chief in charge of training where he retired after 26 years of service. Afterwards, he and his wife worked as Mission Service Corp Volunteers with the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
He is survived by his brother Thomas Eugene and his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Jean Knight Pritchett and his sons, James Donald and Randall Charles, their wives Shirley Suzanne Kay and Holly Leigh Davis, and grand-children James Bradley, Charles Aaron, Matthew Jared, Haley Lane Brozstek, Austin Randall Pritchett and great grandchild James Dean. May he rest in peace.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. through noon on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Irving Baptist Fellowship Church 2201 W. Shady Grove Rd. Irving, TX 75060.
A celebration of life officiated by Reverend Larry Pittman will be held at 11 a.m. on April 13, 2024, at Irving Baptist Fellowship Church 2201 W. Shady Grove Rd. Irving, TX 75060.
